Kendall Supports Funnell

Australia First Party find it quite bizarre that Mayor Kendall has insinuated himself into the middle of the federal election with statements on Prime 7 News "no candidate has spoken of local issues" (28.8.13). Perhaps Mayor Kendall has been too busy to read the local newspapers who have been covering the candidates and the issues since the election was called ?

Since receiving two emails from council today regarding the Mayors top 5 issues for Wagga, I feel obliged to put Australia First's position on the issues forward to the public. I did however notice the proposed Chinese Trade Centre was not amongst the list of the top 5 issues, which was another oddity as it was an issues of such (apparent) importance to Wagga Wagga that a Mayoral taskforce had to be set up specifically for the issue of the Trade Centre.

Australia First question if Mayor Kendall's motivation in speaking out was to assist the DLP candidate Mr Funnell in his campaign as a candidate for the Riverina, as the questions Mayor Kendall has put forward clearly give Mr Funnell a leading edge as they are council related and Mr Funnell currently a Wagga Wagga City Councillor would have first hand intimate knowledge of these issues, that other candidates would not necessarily have ?

1.Levee bank upgrade.

If the Levee bank is compromised it is a top priority for council, in fact it should have had priority over the Robertson Oval upgrade and other projects, as clearly if there is a flood and the Levee gives way the Robertson oval and everything else would be destroyed.

2.Infrastructure and roads.

Funding allocated for roads would have to be spent on roads and not just used as a cash cow for other projects, as currently not all monies funded for roads necessarily end up being spent on roads, some monies can be funnelled off for other projects, we would ensure all monies for roads were spent only on the intended project.

3.Riverina Intermodel freight and logistics hub.

Australia First welcome infrastructure to the Riverina as it creates jobs, we would invest Australian superannuation into these sort of schemes for the benefit of Australians into the future.

4.Wagga Wagga Airport .

It is important that negotiations start as soon as possible regarding the Wagga Airport, as council has spent a lot of ratepayers money at the airport over time, negotiations can be long and drawn out, so we need to move forward on this issue. An interesting component to the airport plan in my email from council is the concept of Wagga council owning the airport would allow money to be borrowed against the title and "developers" could be engaged at the airport regarding parcels of land ?? This smells like another Mayoral taskforce coming on ?

5.CSU Regional Medical School.

Any Australian medical school is welcome and particularly in Wagga, but the reasons given by council for their need is not welcome, "increased population". We need to slash spending on foreign welfare and mass immigration to the region, it is not sustainable and so much of our budget at all levels of government is tied up in the extra cost of health needs, housing, sundry services and unwanted programmes (that no one asked for wanted or needed) courtesy of this population explosion.

Now that Mayor Kendall has brought these issues to the fore, I feel they are so important I am considering running for council at the next council elections so I can give these issues my full attention.
